Join us for a discussion about building your Personal Brand hosted by WEST at LinkedIn. Hear from a panel of professional women in technical roles talk about how they developed their brand and learned how to highlight their strengths and accomplishments.

Come hear from Mansi Modak, Manager, Technical Program Management - Linkedin, Dushka Zapata, VP of Comms - Zendesk and Bobbi Jo Price - Director Strategic Partnerships, Twilio.org - Twilio, Karen Catlin, an advocate for women in the tech industry and other amazing women discuss their careers and what women can do to develop their personal brand to help them succeed.

Amy Parnell

Amy Parnell leads the User Experience Design team at LinkedIn; a centralized team of designers, user researchers and program managers. Amy's team is responsible for the design of all of LinkedIn's consumer, international and enterprise products, as well as internal applications and tools. Amy has led two large-scale redesigns of the LinkedIn product suite, culminating in the recent launch of a completely redesigned desktop experience. Amy's background also includes many years of hands-on product design work, creating digital media and social networking products used by hundreds of millions of people around the world.

Dushka Zapata

Dushka Zapata has worked in communications for over twenty years, running agencies (such as Edelman and Ogilvy) and working with companies to develop their corporate strategy.She is currently VP of Comms at Zendesk, where she oversees public relations, internal communications, analyst relations and content.Dushka is the author of four books, “How to be Ferociously Happy”, “Amateur”, “A Spectacular Catastrophe and other things I recommend”, and “Your Seat Cushion is a Flotation Device”, all available on Amazon.She was recently named one of the top 25 innovators in her industry by The Holmes Report. Dushka regularly contributes to Quora, the question and answer site.

Karen Catlin

After spending 25 years building software products, Karen Catlin is now an advocate for women in the tech industry. She’s a leadership coach, a keynote and TEDx speaker, and co-author of "Present! A Techie’s Guide to Public Speaking." In addition to her leadership coaching business, she's also a facilitator for Women In Management, a forum for female students at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. Formerly, Karen was a vice president of engineering at Macromedia and Adobe. Karen holds a computer science degree from Brown University and serves as an advisor to Brown's Computer Science Diversity Initiative. She’s also on the Advisory Boards for WEST, The Women’s CLUB of Silicon Valley, and Women Serve on Boards.

Bobbi Jo Price

Bobbi Jo is the Enterprise Partnerships Director for Twilio.org. With 15 years experience leading sales teams in the tech sector serving clients in areas of higher education, government, and healthcare, Bobbi Jo is now excited to be working within Twilio.org helping nonprofits and social enterprises think about communication strategies in new ways. Bobbi Jo spends her free time volunteering with seniors and at a therapeutic riding center in Orinda.

Mansi Modak

Mansi Modak leads the Technical Program Management team for LinkedIn’s Consumer Engineering; LinkedIn Flagship App and Premium Product. This team is responsible for delivering and launching large, high priority and visible projects for LinkedIn App. Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a key driver to work very closely with product, design, engineering and all cross-functional teams to plan and drive the end to end execution of the project across multiple dependencies. After starting her career in software engineering field, Mansi evolved into the TPM role based on her personality and passion towards “planning” for everything she does. Recently, Mansi has joined LinkedIn’s Women-In-Tech (WIT) leadership taskforce to leverage her strengths towards planning and execution of LinkedIn WIT’s external partnerships.

Julie Marie Norvaisas

Julie leads the User Experience Research practice at LinkedIn. Her team delivers insights to Product teams across all Consumer and Enterprise products. Employing rigorous methods and an experimental spirit, they are known for inviting empathy, inspiring design, amplifying user value, and solving business problems. Before joining LinkedIn, Julie practiced human-centered design as a consultant, with teams around the world.
