The Panelists
Ellen O'Connor
Ellen O’Connor is a software engineer at GoDaddy, focusing on product experimentation, user analytics and personalization. Ellen began her career as a linguist working for a spin-off of USC’s Information Sciences Institute, where she designed conversational agents for language learning software. In 2015 Ellen received her PhD in linguistics from USC with a specialization in experimental psycholinguistics, and decided to shift focus towards a technical industry role thereafter. Ellen is also an accomplished baker in large part due to her terrible sweet tooth.
Stacey DePolo
Stacey DePolo has harnessed the power of advocacy for nearly two decades. She’s currently a Social Advocacy Strategist for GoDaddy, managing the customer advocacy program of 700,000 brand advocates on the social media team. Since joining GoDaddy in 2013, she’s launched and managed GoDaddy’s Customer Experience program and social media listening initiatives that facilitated a dramatic improvement of brand social sentiment.
Suzanne Harrison
Suzanne is Software Development Engineer on the UX Platform team at GoDaddy since February 2017. The prior year, she was a student at ADA Developers Academy, a training program located in Seattle, Washington for women and non-binary people who want to transition their careers and become software developers. Suzanne transitioned into software development from the hospitality industry where she was a supervisor at Seattle local favorite eatery, Geraldine’s Counter (try the French Toast!) Suzanne has a B.A. in social science from Colgate University.
Shradha Balakrishnan
Shradha Balakrishnan is the Product Manager for Email Migrations at GoDaddy. She is a dual degree graduate from Kellogg (MBA) and Harvard (MPA) who is passionate about driving social impact through technology, policy and human connections. Originally from New Delhi, India, she spent 6+ years studying and working in Japan before moving to San Francisco over ten years ago. Prior to graduate school, Shradha managed technology-driven social impact programs sponsored by the US State Department in the Middle East and Africa, which also sparked her pivot from the nonprofit to the tech world. Fluent in Japanese, Hindi and Oriya, Shradha has traveled to more than 50 countries. She serves on two nonprofit boards, moonlights as a radio jockey and is also a classical Indian dancer.
Heidi Gibson
Heidi Gibson is the Director of Product Management & Growth at GoDaddy. She has 20 years of experience building teams and products for startups and tech companies, and has a passion for serving the small business market. She took 5 years off her tech career to open a local restaurant chain, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, and write two successful cookbooks. She still owns the restaurants and enjoys showing up on weekends and getting in the staff’s way. Heidi volunteers with a local entrepreneurship non-profit, The Renaissance Center, and has coached hundreds of aspiring business owners on how to start and grow their dream business. Heidi holds a BS and MS in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT. Outside of GoDaddy and the restaurants, Heidi is an avid runner, rock climber, and biker, is a dog person, and also cultivates some of the best sourdough starter on the west coast.
